Wheeler's Campground is peaceful, and well very maintained campground. The campsites are large, each with electrical and fresh water hookups, fire pit and picnic table. Bathroom facilities are kept very clean, and campground visitors seem to respect the facilities unlike at Wheeler's close neighboring campground (Devils Lake).

We'll be back!

Fantastic experience! We loved every second of our time at Wheeler's Campground! Easily accessible firewood & ice, and just a short drive to Devil's Lake! We will be back often to visit! Thanks for a great time.

Camped here for 2 nights with our 3 boys in early August 2017. Beautiful grounds, clean bathrooms, playground for the kids, close to the state park, owners were friendly and helpful. We had no issues referenced in some of these reviews. But of course, with 3 young boys, we were in bed by 11-or at least the kids were, and we try to be respectful of noise, as much as you can with 3 kids. Thursday night was quiet and Friday night, as you would expect, the campground livened up. We appreciated that the campground fell pretty silent at 11, even on Friday night.

I have been here many times when Devil's Lake was 100% booked, but now I rather be here then the campgrounds at Devil's Lake.

I have to say for those of you reading these reviews, those spouting off about their negative views, I am willing to bet during their stay broke the rules and were called out on it. This is a beautiful family run campground. As for the owners, they always took the time to greet me and made me feel welcome. We were in the area to climb at Devil's lake with my friends an son, they seem to be avid outdoors people them selfies and had great knowledge of the area, and were happy to take the time to share it with us. The campground is spacious and very clean, has a well stocked camp store with all your basic goods, as well as a great selection of basic climbing gear for sale and rent. For the record I'am not a white male as one reviewer claims you need to be to get along here.

Wheeler's also has a playground, fishing pond, half court basketball, a nice camp store, and a "game room". The game room is more of a large rustic barn with pool table, ping pong, air hockey... you get the idea. They are not in pristine condition, but me and my son enjoyed playing ping pong for a few hours late at night. The Game Room is a great place to hang out if you encounter a rainy day while camping, or just need a beer and get your ping-pong on.

It is a great location to get to Devil's Lake, only about 5 minutes!

This is a family owned campground. You can tell they take pride in the appearance and offering every guest a pleasant camping experience. The owners have always been very friendly and interesting people to talk to. Im sure if you are a jerk, a patent troll or don't think the basic campground rules apply to you, you may not enjoy camping here.

It was very clean and quaint, quiet and relaxing. I have to say, I definitely see this being a "family" campground. We enjoyed our stay, but when we started to play our music and yard games in the middle of the day we felt a bit out of place. This is a very mellow place. Most of the campers were in bed by 9PM, quiet time was at 11PM.

I just came back from another great camping weekend to Wheeler's and Devil's Lake.

If you want to party all night around the camp fire, and feel its your job to keep everyone else awake until 4am, don't go to Wheelers. They actually expect you to respect other campers/families and the few rules they have. This is simply campground that is willing to enforce the same rules many break at other campgrounds.

My friends and I stayed here over the weekend from Illinois. The hospitality was okay, kind of awkward but trying to be friendly!
