The buffet we had planned to dine in was closed and the other restaurant was completely full, forcing us to eat (premade) hamburgers and chips.
Good place to go to get out of the cold. Unlimited coffee and Pepsi. You can smoke inside is a big plus. I hope that they don't go non smoking like Madison Hochunk did. The Sunrise cafe has good breakfast. The Wednesday night seafood buffet is good, I would like to go there again but, when your on a fixed income $30.00 is a little to rich for my blood. I also like the morning buffet too.
With all the walking, forced my sister to rent a scooter for the duration of our stay. With all that being said, while Ho-Chunk is under construction, it's best to stay away.
The construction of inside and outside is totally unreal. You have to walk what seems like blocks and blocks to get anywhere. There are not signs posted of where certain events are. Which meant more walking. Long way around to our room. One entrance to get into the building so making to our room with our luggage was another long walk.
The rewards center was on the complete opposite side of the entrance.
While the accommodations were good, we had virtually no hot water in the shower. Maintenance was called, and they suggested turning on the sink flushing the toilet and letting the water run. We still had cold showers for the night and following morning. At checkout time, we told him of our issue and finally receive $20 back.
The room was cold, and no tissues at all.
“High stakes” black jack dealers should be able to say “hello” or “hi” or at least acknowledge ones presence. Also, I’ve never been to a casino that finishes a two deck blackjack shoe on whomever walks up. Like my dumb arse. Meaning whoever played before me played all but two hands of the shoe, left, and I showed up not knowing I wouldn’t be getting a fresh cut. I don’t suspect some big conspiracy but in light of the robot staff member dealing who knows. Bottom line is that a slot machine had more customer service than my dealer.
As close as you can get to a Vegas trip without leaving WI. FUN casino, not too smoky. Dealers are professional... I actually trust them not to screw up (unlike other tribal casinos.) Close to the Cells and its water parks... Leave the kids at the hotel and go win some money. Have fun!
