Great tour. Very informational, and historic! We had a vacation in the dells and saw this little gem in one of the guide books. It was about 20 minutes outside of the dells, but a nice drive. Very worth the trip. The house has an interesting history. It is in the process of being restored by the current owner. Some of it it's under construction, but most of the home is historically accurate. It will be neat to stop back in a few years to see the progress. The price may have been a bit high, but it was okay to pay knowing that we were contributing to the renovations. It will be neat to stop back in a few years and see the progress. The place is worth seeing now, but has potential to be more! Very high end finishings for the early 1900s. The furniture in the place all belongs to the Ringlings. The history of the family was really interesting to hear, especially growing up in the area!! Worth a check out!
Phenomenal! Tour guide was AMAZING. LOVED HER. So lucky to have met the owner. That's an amazing story in itself. We were lucky to be the only ones touring at the time. Really got to go beyond the traditional tour. Great stories and history. Joe and his staff need to be given major props not just for keeping this house in tact, but for delivering the stories with such passion and commitment. This was a highlight of our visit to the Baraboo area. I recommend this to everyone. Whether you are interested in the circus or not doesn't matter. Al Ringling was a fascinating staple in the area. I would come back here every visit just to see the progress made on the building. This isn't about making money off a historic name, it's about passion for a person who impacted culture. 5 stars isn't enough. . . . Side note . . . When the movie is made I'm on deck to be an extra No joke. Love you guys and what you have done with a landmark on the brink of demolition. I wish you nothing but success.
Love this place! Great Tour with a wealth of knowledge about the history of the mansion. Everyone should take a tour!
We were in town and needed something to do. I called and Joe made arrangements for us to tour the home even though there was a wedding scheduled a few hours later. Anyone that is able, needs to go there. The history, the contents and the knowledge of Joe was amazing. Thank you for your hospitality, Joe. We will never forget it.
For those of you thinking of going to the Titanic event, DON'T DO IT! I went to the first one and it was horrible. After traveling many miles to get there, I think they were trying to recreate the weather the day the ship went down. It was so cold in there most of my friends and I had to leave our jackets on. The food service was horribly, horribly slow. The serving portions were so minuscule that I actually went to McDonalds after because I was still so hungry. Because the service was so slow, the evening seemed never ending. I noticed they posted on their Facebook page that they are holding the event again. Do not waste your money. Stay home and watch the movie where you can be warm and have plenty to eat.
